The first of a series of summer shows taking a look at just one publication.
Today we check out Smut Peddler (2012) from Iron Circus Comix. You can grab your own copy of this terrific anthology here! Or click here to get the PDF version!
Somehow, I'm not sure how, I was able to apply the "Something" criteria to the book! Score!
Something Old
"Busking Beguile" by Jess Fink is my favorite of the whole volume. This is saying a lot because there is something that I love in each of the 26 stories in this collection. But this one is best in show.
Something New
This story of exploration and connection is hopeful and heartbreaking all at once. "Just Friends" by Rebecca Ruby and Megan Furesz. Compelling and authentic.
Something Borrowed
"A Hymn To Prosymnus" by Nechama Frier is the retelling of an old Greek Mythology tale from when Dionysus tries to go to the Underworld to see his mother, and makes a promise to the gatekeeper who stands in the way of getting him there.
Something Blue
"Easy" by Leia Weathington and Erika Moen dives into what I really enjoy . . . a fun group scene!

He'll never know that he's fucking a woman!

I could go on for days - and I could highlight each of the 26 stories in this anthology. But I'd rather have you dive in yourself!
If you pick it up, I'd love to hear your thoughts! What did you like? What did you "not love?" Anything in there that just didn't work for you? Anything that really made you tingle?
